I booked mine when I was about 16 weeks. If you want a really popular photographer, I would suggest booking as soon as possible.

This sounds about right. Book as soon as you decide who you want to use. Some book quicker than others and some only take on a certain # of sessions per month.

this. My cousin is a photographer and she books only few newborn sessions a month since she has young kids and doesn't want go be crazy busy . She told me yesterday she is all booked through May and not booking anyone new right now, She lives in Canada .
