How times have changed --> Brady Bunch related
Ohhh the Brady Bunch. It's on TV Land now, and if you know the show, you've seen this episode. It's the Christmas episode where Carol gets laryngitis and Cindy asks Santa to bring her back her voice. Mike brings her to see Santa, and there's a line, and she tells him she can wait by herself. He thinks about it for... oh... TWO SECONDS and then says, "well, I really wanted to bring back this gift... are you sure you'll be ok?" And of course she gets all cute and indignant: "Daddy -- I'm SIX!" And off he goes. It sure isn't the 1970's anymore!

Today is so totally different. Remember when we were allowed to play in our front yard alone and walk to our friends alone. You can't even do that today.

I think Buddy Hinton would be in anger management classes if he were around today.
I think Jan would be in intense psychotherapy for delusional thoughts of George Glass.
I think Marcia would be arrested for stalking Davy Jones.

Seriously! I remember going Christmas shopping when I was in 6th grade. I was...12? I had to take the city bus too and even took the girl who use to live on my street who was 2 or 2 1/2 yrs younger. So she was 9 or 10. Can you imagine???

The funniest part is that she totally wasn't the only kid alone on that line to see Santa. They ALL were. Every single kid was alone. And THEN... Mike goes back to yell at Santa for promising Cindy the impossible, and... you guessed it... he's alone! He's carrying the gift, so he clearly hasn't gone home yet, which means that Cindy is hanging around somewhere, by herself, waiting for him. Oh, but don't worry -- she is six, after all.
