How to complain to the MTA about Babylon Train Station
I live in West Islip right by the Babylon Train yard and that last 3 nights from 1-3 am they have been what I will call testing the train horns. I call it testing because there are no train going through. Since the weather got cool we have been sleeping with the windows open and it has been a nightmare.
I was wondering if anyone knew who to complain to? I have tried looking up numbers on the internet but only across the MTA police which I almost called last night.
Any suggestions other than not opening my window.

Have you tried the MTA website?
ETA: this is the number to the LIRRs main office (718-558-7400)... Maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Sadly I believe the horn issue falls under federal guidlines.
I know there were issues when the government raised the minimum decible requirement for crossings. People complained and the LIRR said complain to DC not us.

Thank you for the number I will give it a try. I am not complaining about the train while crossing that I got used to but them blowing horns for 2 hours in the middle of the night every 5 minutes is a little ridiculous.

Gotcha, but its probably some federal law that they have to test them every so often.
Maybe its just easiest when they are all in the yard at once.
