How to dress an 18 month to 2 year old

Marron will be between 18 months and 2 years old for the fall/winter/early spring. I'm finding myself kind of lost as to how to dress her this year. Last year it was easy -- a onesie and a pair of pants, or a little sweatsuit with a onesie under it, or a 1 piece outfit, etc. But as I'm shopping this year, I'm finding alot of just "regular" clothes in her size. Such as henley shirts, button down shirts, tunic shirts, and just "regular" shirts and stuff. I know I hate how messy she looks now when her shirt rides up and you can see her diaper sticking out from her pants, or when you can see her "crack", or ... you know, just messy like a toddler often looks.

So, what did/are most people putting on their little girls of this age so they still look neat and put together?

I will continue to put a onsie under his shirts because it drives me nuts and I am worried he will get a draft on his (go ahead and call me granny Chat Icon ). I know that Children's place has some onsie type shirts for the boys and I think I saw some for girls.

Don't know if that helps

Noah always wears a onesie (unless its warm out) as I can clearly see the temptation to pull on his nappy is so great that at times, it overcomes him. So a onesie it is. I generally dress him in Jeans and T shirts, I can layer his clothes or buy jeans that are lined with flannel or fleece for the winter. For a girl, I would go with skirts and wool warm tights and tops with long sleeves. On his feet this winter I am going to get Noah some Converse and a pair of kickers as they are really cute.

Yes, it does help. I had planned on putting a onesie undershirt on her anyway, but I know last year when I tried putting a regular shirt on her (with the undershirt), the regular shirt always rode up on her. It drove me crazy. BTDT moms, does this happen less often when they get a bit older (like toddlerhood) and aren't being picked up and carried as much?

I would love to do this, but I could not find wool tights (or cable knit tights) anywhere last year. Anybody know where I can find them?

p.s. - I love those shoes. I wish I had a boy to put them on! Chat Icon

I hate onesies so we do tees, pants, skirts and dresses. Basically grown up clothes in her sizes.

Yes I find it's not as bad. I usually still put a onesie on her as well, except over the summer when it's hot.
