How to get a lot of protien??
Our Bradley teacher made us chart our diets for the week to see just how we're eating and to see how much protien we're getting and I realized I'm not getting NEARLY enough protien!
Any one have suggestions how to get a lot in your diet. I know shakes and bars, but what foods?

You have lots of choices, chicken, turkey, beef, fish, beans and peanut butter all have lots of protein in them.

Re: How to get a lot of protien??
Best sources: Eggs Lean meats (chicken, turkey, red lean meats) Tofu fish Cottage cheese and some diary have more than others
You can do through veggies but it's not "as good". If you do beans you need rice with it. Beans does not have "full" proteins it's missing some of the amnino acids to make it. Rice has the rest and mixed with rice, will make it a full protein (it's called complementation!).

Ditto, plus dairy.
Also try to work soy in where possible (soy milk, soy cheese, etc)

Re: How to get a lot of protien??
See I have been eating all that and I'm still not getting enough!
According to my teacher we should be getting at least 100g per day.
I thought I was doing good, but when it all adds up, yeah, not so much!

WOW..
Are you working out?
100g is usually for people who work out. I used to be a personal trainer and trained a lot and that's what I would eat.

Re: How to get a lot of protien??
I'm sure I don't get nearly enough protein, even for a person who isn't pregnant! I try, but I just don't like meat. I have been trying to snack on almonds every day, eat PB for some protein, and I love chick peas and other beans, I'll just throw some on my salad, or I actually love them plain w/just a splash of balsamic vinegar on them. Also, try hummus-- love hummus!

Ok, I just read my pamphlet and it says "approximately 100 grams".

I am sure it's based on a higher calorie count. Usually it's based on a 2000 or 2200 calories per day.
You usually count 20% of you protein intake from you totally calorie intake.

ETA: a chicken breat filet is about 20-25 g protein. You would have to eat 5 chicken breasts per day...
