how to get laundry smelling fresh with free and clear detergent?
Everything, especially their bibs smells like old milk! I use all free and clear and just started adding baking soda but it only helped it slightly. Tia

Do they spit up a lot? Maybe if you try soaking the bibs and tryingnto hand wash it with a mild dish soap first that would help?

Anything that had spit up on it, I always sprayed with Dreft stain spray before throwing it in the wash. Never had an issue with smelly clothes! HTH!

Not spit up but they dribble milk and formula when they eat. Im not really feeling spraying each and every bib haha. We wash 8000 per week!

Re: how to get laundry smelling fresh with free and clear detergent?
Have you cleaned your washing machine lately? Once in a blue moon I run the wash empty with detergent so that it can clean itself. As for milky items I would always soak things with stains in the sink before washing them, then I would use bar soap on the stain. After that I would use a stain stick. I think letting things that have breast milk or formula sit around crumpled and not washing them or soaking them immediately can give them a moldy smell. I switched to those plastic bibs once my kids were old enough to wear them for eating. My kids were not real dribblers though, so the cloth bibs basically went unused unless they received a bottle of formula.
Also I loved these bibs Bumpkins and after each use I would wash it down in the kitchen sink, then hang it to dry. I put one of those removable hooks and hung them up on it.

Tide and Affresh make washing machine cleaner. I would try that. I don't know if you have a front loader, but I would check..also if you do have the frontloader, make sure you are using the he detergent. I noticed that makes a difference with the machine.

If you're looking for something natural I find adding some vinegar to the wash helps with smells...

I used to spray all her bibs. My trigger finger was insanely strong because of it.
Then I just started throwing a scoop of Oxi Clean in before adding her clothes. That did the trick for me.

Try adding some vinegar and a few drops of lavender essential oil.
