How to get rid of a 90' pine tree?

.... without paying too much. It's a very straight, healthy tree, but it's blocking my solar panels, and unfortunately, for the good of the planet, solar panels always overrule trees... Chat Icon

If I have to pay to have it taken down, I have a company that I am very happy with that I've used before. I'm looking for someplace that would take the tree and use it, so I wouldn't have to pay to have it removed. Sculptor, sawmill, etc.

Worse-case scenario, I'll have the company that I've used before take the tree down, and there is a wood sculptor nearby that carves statues, but doesn't have any means of taking trees down or transporting them, so I'll have the tree company drop the large sections off at his place. The tree won't go to a landfill, which is the main objective, but I'll have to foot the bill for the whole thing....

Only thing I could think of is post it on Craigslist to see if someone would take it for free if they remove it.

maybe call some nurseries that sell larger trees...i have heard that places will remove them for you b/c then they sell them to people who want full grown/large trees

Offer it as a town Christmas tree or see if they would want it for EAB Plaza or something. I know they cut and take it for free, but it is not an immediate solution.

Re: How to get rid of a 90' pine tree?

If it's of any consolation, the company that took our trees down (one of htem was a 110' pine tree too), chipped the tree to sawdust on the premises. I know some company recycle the sawdust. We used some of sawdust they did in our yard. I did a huge compost pile. 1 year later, it was great compost.

I would call Hick's or Martin Viette and ask them if they would be willing to take it off of your hands.
