How to keep roses alive?
DH bought me roses last night for our engagement anniversary (it seems corny but we always go out to dinner the same place we got engaged). I love roses but mine never seem to stay alive for very long.

I just watched on the Today show that you should change the water everyday and put an aspirin in the water each day and that will keep them alive

I change the water and put a penny in the water too. I have no idea why, but somebody told me and it seems to work!

I believe the stems get more water into them that way.

I heard you can put in bleach or white vinegar. I never tried it though.

Re: How to keep roses alive?
I use a cap full bleach in my flowers. Works great and keeps the water clear and less smelly. Not sure with the roses though.

Those are the 2 things I do and it can keep a bouquet of roses looking fresh for up to 2 weeks.
