How to wash bottles and pump parts?
As a new mommy, I am trying to figure out how to best clean baby's bottles and pump parts.. so I was wondering what other mommys do..
Do you simply wash your bottles and pump parts in hot and soap water after every use or do you also sterilize after each use/cleaning?
Do you use the microwave sterilizers to sterilizer or just boil them in hot water?
Can I wash them in hot water and soap and then just sterilize in either a microwave sterilzer or boiling water once every few days??
What brand of dishsoap do you use? Can I Use the same stuff I use for my dishes??

You are going to get a million different answers. Some sterilize after every use. Some only before first use. I use regular dishsoap/ hot soapy water. I sterilize in a microwave sterilizer every Sunday morning. Congrats on becoming a mommy!

According to Medela, whose business would go way down if any babies got sick from unclean parts, you only need to wash in hot, soapy water after each use. So that's what I do. You can put the parts through the dishwasher every night too if that makes you feel better. The tubing never touches the milk, though, so unless you see milk in it for some reason you don't have to wash that at all.
