I use hot water and soap and put the shields and little parts in the sterilizer every two days or so.

I have a question-how does everyone clean their tubing? Chat Icon

I used hot water and soap. I never cleaned the tubing (well I did once but after that I never did), technically it shouldn't be touching your milk so it shouldn't need it. If you see some condensation on the tubing, just run the pump with just the tubing connected for a few minutes to dry it out.

I do the same -- only I leave the pump running everytime with just the tubing while I clean the parts. One night DH was doing me a favor and cleaning my supplies, he washed the tubing with the rest of the parts. I just hung it to dry.

Also -- anyone know if the medela bottles can go in Dishwasher? My Dh keeps putting them in there, but i catch them before i run it. I wondering b/c ill be going back to work after Thanksgiving and DH will be watching DD one day a week and im sure he will put them in there and run it.

i don't clean the tubing regularly, although i did sterilize it yesterday because i thought (imagined, DH says!) that i saw milk in it.
