how/when did your contractions start?
i was induced the first time so i never went into labor on my own.
when did you start feeling contractions?
and how did they come on?
what did it feel like at first before you knew for sure?
did you have any signs it was coming?

All I can tell you is you will know when it's happening. They feel like menstrual cramps; like when your period is starting. I've always lost my mucus plug the day before or the day of (I had preterm deliveries); unlike some ladies who may lose theirs but nothing happens for weeks.

I've had period like cramps on and off for weeks, lost my mucus plus last week and this morning lost it again/ more of it?
I really hate the waiting game

With my son, I remember getting Braxton hicks towards the end but they weren't painful and not many cramps. Then at 38 weeks i had my appt wed night and I was 2 cm and he wanted me to come back Friday bc he thought it was the start on something (found out later he stripped my membranes). Thursday I went to work and taught 2 periods and felt normal then I had an off period and I kept getting cramps that felt like I was getting my period plus my stomach would get hard and my back would also hurt then it would go away. So I started timing and they were 10 min apart then quickly switched to 5 min consistently so I went to the dr and they sent me to the hospital and I was 3 cm and that's that. He was born that night!

The day before I went into labor I just felt generally lethargic and "blech." I actually told me fried that I hoped it wasn't labor since it was 11 days before my due date still and DS was breech so I was scheduled for a c-section. The day I went into labor I just felt "off." I took a shower and then noticed some blood. I called my OB who told me to come in. I got ready and decided to drive myself to the OB in Manhattan. Somewhere around the Midtown Tunnel I started feeling contractions. They felt like period cramps that came and went. By the time I got to my OB I was 4 cm dilated.

Crashing. Everyone told me I'd know when I was having contractions/in labor. Well, they were wrong. With DD, I walked around the mall with DH for hours, thinking I was having gas pains. We even went out to dinner. It wasn't until 8 hours after the pains began that I began questioning it. Once we started timing it out of curiosity, the pain worsened and I was pretty sure it was labor (contractions never were consistent, so it's a good thing we called my ob when we did).
With DS, I woke up at 4am with cramps. I knew I was in labor because the pain was exactly the same as it was with DD, only more intense.

First time I had timeable contractions 4 days.. 7 to 9 minutes apart consistently. I finally got to 4-5 minute apart on the 4th day and still needed to be induced to get things moving because I wasnt progressing

Not necessarily. I had what I thought was Braxton hicks (no pain just tightening) so I went to work. During first period, I timed them and they were consistently every 4-5 minutes. I felt little pain until the broke my water.

With my first, my water broke but I wasn't having any contractions until after the doctor gave me meds to induce.
With #2 I started with back pains and 15 minutes later I was in labor.

With DD i had taken a pretty long walk one evening having zero indications labor was coming. I woke up at 3am with contractions. They come on in a wave almost. where it starts off feeling like a Braxton Hicks where your belly gets really tight, but add in a really intense menstrual-like cramping that gets more and more intense and after about 45 seconds then begins to subside. I had an app on my phone (of course!) to time the contractions - both the duration and the time between them. After about an hour, I woke up DH and said we need to go. I got to the hospital i was 5cm. my water did not break, and I had been losing my mucus plug and feeling dilation for about the 2 weeks leading up to it.

for me contractions felt like really bad period pains times 1,000. Mine started after I was induced with cervadil (my water broke). I begged for the epi as soon as I could get it.

#1- woke up at 5am with my bloody show and the contractions started an hour later. I didn't have 1 contraction prior to that morning. No signs it was coming.
#2- had contractions since 34 weeks. That night, woke up with them and wasn't sure as they were regular. Jumped in the shower and when i got out, i had to breathe through them. Called my husband who was working a midnight shift.
#3- had contractions since 31 weeks. That night they started and weren't going away. Felt crappy all day and crampy. When i had to start breathing through them... i called my husband who was working at night again.

how/when did your contractions start?
I was also induced with DD1.
With DD2 I woke up at midnight and was having contractions. They continued all night with no pain. Woke up, went out for breakfast, went for a walk. Called my doctor around 1 since I was past my due date just to see if it was normal, but still wasn't in pain. They had me go to the hospital to get checked. Got there around 3. They were going to send me home - said it was early labor. By 6 I was screaming in pain, and DD was born just after 8.
