How would you (as an employee) deal with this?

**this isn't me just something I witnessed**

You are having a disagreement with a co-worker. You are going back and forth about whose responsibilty is what, he said / she said etc. Cannot agree. It gets heated (this is over the phone but in the same office). The person sends an email to the "powers that be" that basically puts blame on you for the entire thing instead of trying to find a solution. You call this person to ask why they felt it was necessary to play the blame game like that and they SLAM the phone down on you. You call back and said "How dare you hang up on me" and they SLAM it down again.

The person who got hung up on just took it. She called her boss who did not want to deal with it at that moment. If that was me, I would have gotten up from my desk and (as calmly as possible) walked over there to confront them in person - without making a scene.

I just could not believe that this girl allowed herself to be treated that way!

Since I am HR, I witnessed it and documented it but I am holding off on saying anything at this point for a few reasons...

How would you have reacted?

I would definitly go to my boss, if not directly to HR and tell tehm that regardless of the situation, no one should be hanging up on anybody. this is not your wife or husband you are dealing with and these things should be handle professionally.

the person who hung up the phone was totally unprofessional. i would have confronted that person (calmly) and also reported the matter in person and via email to my boss or hr, just to have it in writing, if the issue came up again.

ITA. I would have reported it to my manager and/or HR.
