How's the Oakdale area and schools?
this housing market is depressing, I can't believe we can't find something after looking for so long. It's down to the wire now to find something and we are in scramble mode since we need to be out soon. Oakdale is in between where we were looking, so I was curious to hear thoughts on the area. TIA!

It's connetquot sd and it's very good! oakdale/Bohemia were on the top of our list when we're looking.

Excellent! We bought almost 2 years ago in Oakdale, south of Montauk and love the neighborhood. My son just started school this year and we are very happy. FM me with any questions. Happy to help.

How's the Oakdale area and schools?
I grew up in Oakdale and love it there. Great neighborhood, good schools. My dad still lives there.

I lived in oakdale for over 10 years my son is a connetquot graduate if you have any questions about the schools.

I agree with this.
My Cousin lives in Oakdale south of Montauk and it's a beautiful area. All of her boys went to and graduated from Connetquot.
The flooding is an issue, especially south of Montauk.

Regarding the flooding, not all areas south of Montauk have serious flooding issues. The Idle Hour area was severely damaged and flooded during Sandy. My brother lives on the water and south of Montauk in Oakdale but a little east of Idle Hour and they had zero damage from flooding from Sandy in their neighborhood. Definitely something to be aware of, but some areas are worse than others.

I live south of Montauk in the Idle Hour section. The problem is that the water table is a little high. Sandy was a rare occurrence. It does not flood with every rain. However, there are certain areas closer to the river that have flooding issues but it's not the norm for the area. The street I live on does not flood and I'm about a half a mile from the mouth of the river.
