HSA/FSA - money spending ideas needed
We put too much money in our HSA/FSA account this year and we need to figure out how to spend it. It will disappear after December 31st so it has to be used (this has been confirmed)
I know the usual: Doctor appointment Prescription Glasses Braces
When we called to confirm the money will disappear we asked what we can spend the money on and we were given the list above. They also mentioned band aides :)
But we have a big amount of money to spend (we were too cautious and put too much)
Coworker mentioned fitbits but we were told that doesnt count...? We also wanted pillow covers for dust mites (daughter is allergic) but we were told that doesnt count...? Blood pressure monitor?
Any other ideas on how we can spend the money? or big ticket ideas.
The hard part is when calling the help line they just say "Submit the receipt and if it is allowed it will be accepted if not then it will be rejected"
We don't want to buy something (just to spend the money) and then have it be rejected and we're stuck with something we will never use.
Thanks

Check out this list:
FSA eligible products
There is also a list of items that are eligible with a doctor's prescription.
Fit bit devices are usually NOT FSA eligible.

Can you buy some of the baby items and save them for a baby shower? Maybe even a breast pump and then sell it on ebay. However, I don't know if you need to provide proof that you have a newborn to buy it.

The list used to be so much more; but they took so much away; including OTC meds.
Accupuncture is covered. Anything Dental Contact Lenses Any Doctor visits Vaccines Blood Pressure and Insulin Monitors (good to have) Wheelchairs (can be a big ticket item)
How much is left to use?

Sunscreen
Yes, this! Good sunscreen is very expensive. I used to stock up when I had extra FSA dollars.

HSA’s don’t expire. They carry over. FSA’s expire. I bought Chiropracter pillows the last time I needed to use funds.

Lube, condoms, and boogie wipes are covered. Diapers for babies are not. But if you’re an adult that constantly sh!ts yourself, you’re covered.

Re: HSA/FSA - money spending ideas needed
I had a few hundred dollars to spend last year. I went on the Walgreens website. They have a flex spending section to help you spend that money.

Re: HSA/FSA - money spending ideas needed
IF you go to FSAstore.com, you can order stuff online and get good ideas on what is FSA eligible, with and without a prescription.
