HSG Scheduled!
Hey all,
Just got in contact with my dr's office. My HSG is scheduled for next Friday at 7:30am. Kind of nervous, but I guess it's one step closer, to having a baby right? If it even happens. I guess I'm only nervous because I don't know what to expect, I guess pain-wise. Anyways, thought I would update you guys!

Its not bad - at least mine weren't and one tube was blocked - take a few tylenol before you go

I agree, just take some pain meds before, you'll probably just get some cramping, its really not that bad

Just wanted to wish you luck I am in the same boat. i am supposed to go for an HSG on Monday but because I am allergic to seafood I can't have the dye contrast. I am having a similar test (sonohysterogram) that uses saline instead. Unfortunately I don't think it is as detailed as the HSG. Anyway, bestof luck.

Good Luck! I took 2 Advil before and mine was still somewhat painful. The pain was not unbearable though and only lasted for a minute or so. I was a little crampy and bloated for the next day. The worst part for me was the nerves and anxiety beforehand worrying about what to expect.

It's not bad at all. Take a couple of Motrin or Advil an hour beforehand. It feels like AF cramps.

I had one quick sharp pain and that was it. I agree, take the Advil or Tylenol at least 30 minutes before you go.

Thank you all! I think my biggest thing is the anxiety. I freak out and worry about everything. I've had a catheter done before when they had to drain my bladder, and that was just uncomfortable, is it something like that? Sorry for all the questions.. Thank you again for all your responses!

I had heard such horror stories about the pain before I went in that I barely felt any pain at all!!!!!

Im not gonna lie. Mine was pretty painful. The tylenol didn't help. But, on a better note, it only last a few minutes which made it tolerable. NOt long at all. The nurses preparing you for the exam is much more intimidating. Good Luck!! Im having a second HSG done in the next few weeks.

For me it was more embarrasing to do b/c the dr/radiologist was a hottie and b/c I used to be a very shy sqeamish patient.
Definitely pop your Tylenol

My dh couln't come with me that day, I went alone. My mom and MIL offered, butI just wasn't in the mood for either of them .

Well the hospital just called to "register" me for Friday.. My insurance sucks. I have to pay almost $300 towards the HSG. I'm so ****** off. No one told me that when I scheduled it. It wouldn't be so bad, if we didn't just pay all of our bills. Now I'm stressing!
