Humor me...TTC #2 related
What are the pros and cons of having your kids be 3 years apart vs 4 years apart? I know it's only a year...does it make a big difference? What are the pros and cons of waiting another year to TTC? I'm not even 30 yet (though it's fast approaching ).

Re: Humor me...TTC #2 related
I can't think of many differences when they're younger.Maybe advances on car seats, etc could change.
The only thing I could come up with is 4 years means they're not in the same school for more than a year. By the time one reaches middle school, the other is off to high school, etc.
This could have it's advantages & disadvantages. Sometimes it's easier to have a sibling in the same school to ease the tension for the younger one. On the other hand, you won't have 2 in college at the same time (assuming a 4 year college).

Sandra for me, that extra year mean only ONE child in daycare and savings of MUCHO money
I know it sux to think like that, but for me, that's what we are doing... besides the fact that if we wanted to have children three years apart we would have to TTC in less that six month so that's another reason.

Re: Humor me...TTC #2 related
Just an FYI on the daycare thing since I went through it.
Right now Joseph is in Kindergarten, Maddie is in preschoo/daycare. I'm still paying for before & after care at Kindergarten. It's less money since it's through the school district.
If the school district wasn't an option, the daycare has before/after care but it costs almost the SAME as full-time.
Also daycare costs go up every year - and unfortunately in some cases, it's significant.

A four year old would be more independent, which would make caring for the newborn easier -- but that also means you've gotten used to having more free time again and have to give it up and start over!

EXCELLENT point - thank you! I guess I have to find out when pre-school starts in my district, how much for after care, all that kind of stuff.
I know what exactly what you mean about having only 6 months to TTC - DH wants to start this summer and I'm like . Where did the time go?? I don't think I'm ready.
