Huntington Hospital - separate delivery room?
Does anyone know if you labor in one room and deliver in another? I thought most hospitals had you deliver in the room you labored in unless of course you are having a c section

Re: Huntington Hospital - separate delivery room?
If I recall correctly, you labor and deliver in the same room. They take the baby to the nursery shortly after birth for vitals (within an hour, but enough time to allow for skin-to-skin), and you meet up again in the maternity ward.
Also- if you end up being a c-section, there's a L&D operating room just for c-sections in the same unit.
I was supposed to go to the tour this past Saturday, but completely forgot about it. Oh well!

yes you deliver in the room that you labor in - and there aare two suites for emergency c-sections rght near by
i think the only time you don't deliver in the room you labor is if there is a greater ned for an emergency c-seciton - ie twins or other complication

You def. labor and deliver in the same room. And thy do place the baby on you right away for skin to skin, then take and heat him up and clean him off, then bring him back for bfing if you are doing that. then thy take him to the nursery to get weighted and tested. Then they move you over to the recovery room (maternity ward).
