Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
DH and I both get home at 7 - DS's bedtime is at 8. We have barely an hour with him, but we make the best of it. We only eat dinner (or any meal) with him on the weekends After DS goes to bed, we make and eat our own dinner.

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
Normally DH gets home by 4, I'd get home around 5:15. My DS would still go to bed before 8. He'd be too tired usually to last much longer, plus we need time for ourselves at night. I felt like I didn't see much of him during the week but I tried to make up for it on the weekend.

husbands who get home later than 5:00
DH gets home at 4:30 so he picks her up from daycare. I get home around 6:30. We don't eat til after 7:30 most nights. She goes to bed close to 10. She's 15.5 months.
It works for us. We could never do an earlier bedtime than 7. It's just not for us.

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
DH gets home around 6:30 and DD goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00. When DH gets home he spends a little time with her. His day with her is Sunday. That's the day I can have a little me time if I want it. If we go out as a family, he takes the lead with her.

Between 730 and 8. We don't wait for dad. If he comes home late, c'est la vie.
Eta: he gets home no earlier than 630.

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
DH gets home between 8:30 and 9pm. Bedtime for DC is around 9:30. There is no way to get them to settle down immediately after DH gets home (they want to play with him, talk about their day, etc). They do, however, see DH in the morning before work (about 60 minutes or so).

My gets home at 630 and my dd goes to bed by 730. Shes 3 wont nap. I have tried everything to get her to go bed a lil later and sleep later in the morning. But she just doesnt. She wont sleep late. She gets up early and is a mess all day. So he hates it but theres nothing we can do. Its her schedule. :/

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
My husband gets home at 7:45 on a typical night, sometimes later, almost never earlier. The kids go to bed at 8 so he really doesn't see them during the week.

This pretty much. I put him down around 730. I used to keep him up later, and he would still wake up at the same time in the morning...and then be cranky during the day. If I put him down earlier he is good... so this is what we do. Right now he gets 11-12 hours at night and will give me a 2 hour nap during the day. So im happy! I get to make the most of our weekends. I also think the transition will be easier when he starts school and HAS to be up in the morning. If he was used to sleeping in i would hate to break that habit.

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
Dh gets home between 7-10 sometimes later spending on what type of deals he is working on. My girls go to bed between 7:00-7:45 whether my dh is home or not. They are use to him not being home for bedtime. Dh feels sad that he can't always be there but that is what his job requires.

Re: husbands who get home later than 5:00
I get home around 6p. DH around 6:45-7p. I pick DD up at my parents and will usually hang out there for a while and meet DH there or at home.
DD is 23 mos and ideally we'd like her in bed at 8:30p. That usually doesn't happen. We stay up too late with her and she's asleep anywhere from 9-10p. We are completely off our routine since summer and the nice weather started.
