I also had some furniture buying fun this weekend!
I gave up on my dream of buying a vintage dresser- I started to creep myself out about "where has it been- have cats peed in it?" I can do recycled furniture for myslef, but the unknown + baby clothes = nervous mommy apparently.
So we just went to Ikea, where i picked up the dresser and bookcase here- both in black/ brown. The crib is white. Apparently my MIL doesn't understand why I wouldn't get white furniure, but I think it will look nice. Pic shows the pain scheme of the room.

I should add- I'm painting the drawer fronts white, to make it a little more modern looking. I may also add metal drawer pulls.

Love it - look at you all modern. 
Btw, I bought that exact dresser in maple (2 of them actually) for myself 5 years ago when I lived alone and still use them - they are great!

Cool- I can't wait to finish the room- it's currently filled to the brim with shower presents, a weight bench (Max Power likes to pump iron) and a 10 foot surfboard.
I am so excited to get the furniture together and the surfboard out of there, but poor DH has zero free time. I don't want to nag him, but I want to fawn over the room!
I bought a few baskets form Ikea, too- in orange- and some shelving to hide behind the door to double as closet type space.
I am so looking forward to making it a nursery! I wnat to sit in my rocking chair (which currently holds my shiatsu massager  ) and fantasize!

Omigod!! I am so stealing that idea. I never even thought of it. My massager is still in the office on the computer chair!!
Love, Love, Love the bedding and I think it will look great with the white crib and dark dresser/bookcase.
Can't wait to see pics of it all together!
