I am a buying a house - how should I choose my lawyer?
My offer on a house was accepted and I am making phone calls to lawyers tomorrow because I need one fast. What questions should I ask the lawyers? Based on what should I choose the lawyer? I really know nothing about this process.
TIA
ETA: If you have the name of a good lawyer, please recommend him/her.

it might depend on your location. my agent told us a few she has worked with that were really good, we chose one of them and he was THE BEST!!!! he went above and beyond to get us our house. I will fm you the details, he is in sayviille though.

For us it was very helpful to have an attorney who was familiar with the township in which we were buying.

We chose a vendor on this site--- wendi lindsey... knows her stuff and is def a stickler when it comes to analyzing the contract and agreeing to terms which was great... 1k fee... if you call, tell her you heard from gina on lifams

We got ours on recommendation. She did 3 closing for my BIL. And has now done 3 for us. She is also a lawyer for BFCU.
We were happy with her.
She is in SMithtown if you are interested. Her fees nearly 3 years ago were 1K

we used Michael Holland on willis ave in williston park. He is such a great person and lawyer!

I need to call you!!! Our lawyer is in West Islip and has been great. We used her buying our co-op, selling our co-op and now buying our house. I will send you more info, and Mike can give you the specifics since he has been more on top of this whole process!
