ds has been going to bed anywhere form 7-8 at nigt and i go in aod do a dream feed at 11 or so and he sleep fine through it. At about 330 or so he wakes up not crying to eat but fussing. i go in try ther pacfier, rubbing his back etc. it workls for 5 mnutes and stasst agin the only thing that helps is taking him in with me and letting him sleep on my chest. i have to go back to work next week for the last 4 days of school but after that i plan to try to break this. He is not hungry as he doesnt eat at 330 and in fact sleps on me until about7 and is stil nto asking to eat.
What can i do?

I would go and and watch him (you can even put the paci in) and just let him learn to self soothe. If he's not hungry or crying and is just fussing, then you shouldn't have to pick him up and start the habit of having him sleep on you.
I know it's hard, but you will thank yourself in the long run!
Oh, DS was a big time fusser and such a loud sleeper. That monitor would drive me nuts because any little sound would wake me up and have me running to get him. So I turned it down to where it's audible enough that I could hear him cry, but that it wasn't loud enough that I would hear his fussing.

I agree - I used to stick the pacifier in his mouth and walk away. It would take about 3 times, but then he would fall asleep. It is not fun to do this at 3 in themorning but it will save you alot of aggravation in the end.

Re: i am definitely starting a bad habit..help
We used to dream feed DS as well, and I wanted to break it and was terrified.
We just started giving him less and less formula and then stopped cold turkey. As for the waking at 3:30, DS did the same, I would pop his bink in and turn on the mobile and he would get himself back to sleep on his own.
Eventually this stopped after a few weeks as well and he pretty much sleeps through.....
