I am doing WW..what am I doing wrong?

I've had great success with it prior to having a child, lol.

Now I have 15 pounds to lose. I started last week eating 23-25 points/day, doing cardio 3x/week and weights 3x week.

I lost 2 pounds this week. Which is fine..it's a loss....but i remember it being more the first week way back when. (I also had more to lose then..).

I just feel like I was so strict and good all week..I really need 15 pounds off by July, do you think I'm eating too much?

How many points should someone who is 156 pounds eat? I am 5'6" if that makes a difference...I haven't been to a meeting in quite some time!

TIA!

I think you may be eating too many points. This is the new point system:

1. Are you:
Female = 2 pts
Male = 8 pts
A Nursing Mom = 12 pts

2. How old are you:
17-26 = 4 pts
27-37 = 3 pts
38-47 = 2 pts
48-58 = 1 pt
Over 58 = 0 pts

3. What do you weight?
Enter the first 2 digits of your weight in pounds

4. How tall are you?
Under 5'1" = 0 pts
5'1" - 5'10" = 1 pt
Over 5'10" = 2 pts

5. Do you spend most of you day:
(a) Sitting down = 0 pts
(b) Occasionally sitting, but mostly standing (teacher, sales person) = 2 pt
(c) Walking most of the time (waiter, mailman) = 4 pts
(d) Doing physically hard work most of the time (construction, nurse, gardener) = 6 pts

Add up your score and that is the number of points you get for the day.
As you lose weight, your number will decrease because of question # 3.
The minimum number of points you are allowed to have is 18 and the max is 44. So if you add your score and it is 17, make it now 18.

Thanks for this!

But I still am eating what I should be..I figured about 23/24 points. It's hard b/c I chase after an 18 month old a lot of the day and I also earn some activity points...

Are you still allotted the extra 35 points/week?? I definitely ate them yesterday but I weighed myself saturday...

Yes you are still alloted the 35 extra flex points. Honestly, 2 pounds in a week sounds right on target! Don't get discouraged. Most weeks my loss was between .5-.8. After a year it was 27 pounds!

Thanks :)

I know 2 isn't bad...but believe it or not, when I first joined WW i lost 9 in the first week (way too much i know!!) and then 5 the next week, then 3 and then a steady 2 until I had lost 45 pounds.

I am thinner this time around so I know it won't be a huge loss but I honestly thought the first week would be maybe a 4 pound loss. I'll take 2 though!!!

Think about it this way - the longer it takes for the weight to come off, the more likely it will STAY off. 1-2lbs per week is a nice and steady rate that will hopefully ensure that this is a lifestyle change, rather than just a crash diet. It takes longer, but the reward is much higher Chat Icon

I agree with the others.
WW is a lifestyle change.
Some weeks for me are better than others, and I think Ive made peace with that.
It sounds like you are on the right track..congrats!

(And drink lots of water as pp said!)

I am TERRIBLE at drinking water. I will try to drink more!

And i do know that slow loss is best...I just get easily frustrated.

thanks again for the words and advice!!
