I am getting boudoir pics done for DH's birthday....
He's always said he would love to see me made up and photographed by professionals...so I've decided to get some boudoir pics done. I'm so nervous, but excited too! I am going shopping tomorrow for outfits...it's going to be so weird to be half-naked in front of the photographer, but I hear it's a real confidence booster. Anyway...has anyone here gotten boudoir pics taken? Any tips?

you will really enjoy yourself.....i did them for my DH and he LOVED them......but i really think it was more of a gift for myself b/c i felt gorgeous that day - like a model! i was embarrased at first but that quickly went away and i felt so glamorous! you will have a blast!

I've photographed a few boudior sessions - they're a ton of fun. Here is my perspective to help you out.......
Don't be afraid of color - jewel tones, reds and even anything with a lace overlay looks really beautiful.
Don't forget a great pair of heels - something that makes you feel sexy. Maybe even a long strand of pearls - accessories can be an extra little addition.
Don't be afraid to suggest poses or bring certain items that your husband likes. Example - if he's a contractor, bring a hardhat and suspenders. Some type of deskjob? Bring a laptop and a tie......something that will make him think of those sexy pics you took while he's at work :)
And lastly, leave your inhibitions at the door and have FUN. They really are a blast and the more you enjoy it, the more it shows through in the photos.
Have a great time and enjoy your session!!!!!!

GREAT suggestions! ITA!
Also, if you are going for multiple outfits, consider changing up your hair or makeup JUST slightly for some of the looks. Like pin up a bit of hair in the front, leave it all down in others. Change your lipstick from a more nude color, to red. That sort of thing.
Remember that not every picture needs to be hot/sexy/sultry. I've seen some really great pics where the woman is looking more "flirtatious" or "cutesy".

You will have an amazing time and feel great about yourself when you get the pictures!! My husband is in the military and loves the rangers so two of my outfits were that...HE LOVED them

I'm a rather plus sized gal -- and let me tell you -- it is extremely empowering. You start off a bit nervous but by the time you really get going, you feel like a supermodel. The end results -- you won't believe its you.
My DH LOVED the pics and still raves about them!
Bring some sexy music with you that they can play in the background while you are being photographed. That really helps set the mood.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions!! I went shopping today for the shoot and it was very difficult for me to find stuff, plus I had to be back home by 2:00 to relieve the babysitter. I ended up getting a purple bra and panty set from VS, and a few other things from Macys. I am a perfectionist and I know the "look" DH likes, and it was soo hard to find stuff! Then I came back home and realized that I have a white piece of lingerie from my wedding that I never wore. Do you think white is ok for the boudouir shoot? I will bring it just in case I don't have enough outfits. I'm also looking to do something with jeans....maybe just a bra and jeans. I don't really know yet, but I do know that I don't have enough outfits as of now.

relax!!!!! best advice of all..At first its a little uncomforable and weird..but that will soon wear off. Get a lot of sleep the night before, drink lots of water to avoid looking dehydrated. Watch intake of salty/fatty foods that can make you look bloated, avoid alcohol!!!!
Bring props!! they really spice up pics! bring stilletos and bra and panty sets.
Don't think that sexy means lingerie only..you will be surprised how sexy a simple thing like a jersey looks! A lot of my pics I dressed up in more "cute" and fun way..and to be honest..those are my favorite pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Above all have a good time..its an amazing experience!!!!!!!!!! My dh still looks at the pics!!!!!!!!

absolutely! you can wear white!! I did..it looked great in pics!

I did a shoot with Angelica Glass. It was soooooo much fun and I loved the whole experience.
She recommended bringing sexy jeans and a white "wifebeater."
3-4 Lingerie or Bra Panty Outfits, in color with any "bling" you might have. For example, long strands of Pearls or other big pieces of jewelry.
And high heels, they look great in the pics.
I took a ton of direction from her and I loved my pics. I gave my DH an album for his 30th and he loved it. He was so surprised and thought it was such an intimate gift.
I'd love to do it again in the future.

I had an appt to hae them done last year but couldnt for a few reasons. I would love to do it after i have the baby and lose the weight and have the need to feel sexy again
