I am having an Edoscopy this afternoon for those who have had one
can you tell me what to expect afterwards? I read up on google that my throat may be sore from the tube but, is there anything else I should be alert to? I was told I will be put under anesthesia for like 5-10 minutes, that in itself is making me nervous

The whole thing is a piece of cake. I've had 2 and had no problems after. A bit tired but no pain or anything.

DH had one recently. He didn't even end up having a sore throat. He just took a short nap afterwards b/c of the anesthesia.

I wasn't put under anesthesia. I was given a pill and I totally forgot about anything that happened during the procedure. My throat hurt a bit and my voice was hoarse but I was fine.

My DH had one recently. Was given a sedative, woke it and it was over. He did not have any throat soreness afterwards.
My cousin also had one recently. She did experience some soreness afterwards but nothing bad.
Don't worry, it will be a peice of cake!

I have had them a few times. no sore throat. just alittle tired. But I was fine and went about my day after (just played hookie from work)

DH had one and it was super quick, he had no throat pain and was just a little groggy.

I had one last year - it was nothing. Once they put the needle in you're waking up and it's over.
I was just groggy and had a headache from the anesthesia. Just plan laying around the rest of the day.

I had one last year, I was put out for 10 mins and woke up like nothing happened.
It is a real easy process, no worries!

It wasn't that bad.
The stuff you gargle to numb your throat tastes like poop.
They didn't put me under, but in a twilight- took a while to sleep it off and my throat was sore, felt fine the next day though.

Hey, thanks so much for asking. How thoughtful! It went fine. My aunt picked me up to drive me home. My throat is a little sore but not that bad at all. I feel pretty drowsy today though. I think this is expected. I would love to have a cup of decaf coffe but I forgot my paper at home telling me what I can't do after the first 24hours of the procedure..
You guys think it's okay to drink a cup of decaf? I had my procedure at 4:00 yesterday.. Thanks!

I was completely fine after but, I did have it done while being completely awake and I DO NOT recc that.

you wil be ok it take longer for them to set everything up then to have the procedure
you will have a sore throat and maybe some bloating after
