I am off to the doctor... UPDATE #1...UPDATE #2...UPDATE #3 (7/09/08)

as soon as my mom comes over to watch Joey.

I can't take it anymore.

I have been EXTREMELY dizzy since Father's Day.

Now I'm getting nauseaous (sp?) too.

If I didn't just have AF in town, I'd be nervous.

I'm hoping I just need an antihistamine to unclog my head.

But seriously, I feel drunk...all the time...without the actual drinking. It stinks.

I'm getting old.

UPDATE #1-

I am off to see a neurologist. Right now.

The doctor didn't like what he saw.

I almost passed out in the office.

UPDATE #2_
Oh my God...I am seriously crying. You are all so sweet to be praying for me. I really and truly appreciate each and every one of your prayers and hugs.

So...I JUST came back from the neurologist. I was there for over 2 hours.

The doctor did some balance tests with me, and didn't like the results. I again came very close to passing out...not good.

He sent me for a VENG test which was pure torture. I had to wear these goggles with a camera on it. Then I had to do all of these things with my eyes; lay down and get up quickly ; sit in a chair while the tech shook me ...I was a mess.

And...direct quote from the tech, "I have been administering this test for many, many years and I have NEVER seen anyone experience THIS much dizziness."

Great.

Next step is an MRI and an MRA.

I also need another test known as the BAER test.

Then I have the last consult to review all the tests at the end of July.

The doctor said he "prays to God" that it is a serious inner ear infection (but I really don't have any other symptoms) that is causing the vertigo.

He said he wants to rule out brain tumors.

I cried when he said that and he held my hand.

I think it's from sniffing the paint fumes of all the favors I have been making.

But so far, that's it. The MRI/ MRA will be scheduled within the next week. Then we go from there.

UPDATE #3 (7/09/08);

Just came back from the MRI test. Let me just say, it was one of the WORST experiences of my LIFE!

First, the tech looked like Constatine Maroulis from American Idol.
Not good.

Second, I was put on a SMALL conveyor belt that went into a TEENY TINY FULLY ENCLOSED DARK TUNNEL!!

I stayed in said tunnel for 30 minutes, was taken out (still wasn't allowed to move), was given an injection of some sort, then went BACK IN THE TUNNEL for ANOTHER 30 minutes.

Pure, friggin torture.

To add to the torture, they gave me earphones that were playing the worst music I think I have ever heard in my life. One song was called, "When I Grow Up I Want to Be an Old Woman."
But that's OK, because the deafening clicks and bangs of the machinery drowned out all of the music.

AND...I had to pee soooooooooooooooo bad, I really thought I was going to have an accident.

So, all in all....horrific!

Monday I had the BAER test.
That was OK, in comparison to the MRI.

I had to wear huge headphones like an 80's DJ and listen to loud clicks and static.

It was supposed to measure brain waves.

Next I go for an MRA on Saturday. Ugh.

Then the 23rd is when all the tests are reviewed.

I am proud to say I have been dizzy-free for 5 days now. However, the dizziness was replaced with headaches.

Val - since I had Jack I have been dizzy off and on. It's been bad this last week and a half - my mom thinks it's sinuses.

Once I take Sudafed I'm fine....hopefully that's all it is!
