i am seriously at my wits end.
Talia is not sleeping - ever. At night - at naps...its miserable.
We have tried EVERYTHING...
I am feeling like a miserable failure right now with an exhausted daughter.

I am sorry. Did you ever try giving her Chamomile Tea at bedtime?

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
Just like I don't think that moms of three month old babies that are sleeping through the night can take credit for their good fortune, I don't think you can take the blame for your daughter's sleep troubles. That sounds so painful. I hope it works out soon.

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
she is not sick. It has been going on since birth. It is a CONSTANT battle with her.
I have tried music, noise machines, warm milk, cold milk, pillows, dolls, toys, different pajamas, tylenol, cudding, CIO, soothing, he!! I am about to try nursing again if it helps!! (that is a joke!!)
but I haven't tried tea - which I will tomorrow for sure!!

thank you for saying this because the truth is I feel terrible about it. I feel like it is my fault. I have ALWAYS had to push her to sleep, it has never been easy since day one. I feel like it should be getting easier already but it never does.

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
Does she have any food allergies? I had horrible sleep habits from the day I was born, and it turned out that all of my food allergies caused me to not be able to sleep, and in some cases, have night terrors. It might be worth taking her to an allergist. I don't think it's common for allergies to cause sleep disturbances, but hey, it happened to me.

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
I just wanted to give you some as my 17mth old has been a terrible sleeper since she arrived on the scene! She is also a terrible eater and I wonder if the two are related. I have not had a full nights sleep since about my 7th month of my pregnancy - no exaggeration. I have no advice only wanted to give you some and to let you know I am the mom to a terrible sleeper too.

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
Is she getting any molars?. We're semi going through this (not as bad as your but things are a bit off here) and I'm thinking maybe she's getting some molars. She just doesn't let me see.

Re: i am seriously at my wits end.
I second the molars hypothesis. Alex's sleep gets SOOOO bad when she's getting a molar. Does Talia have her 2 year molars yet? Do you use tylenol or motrin? For us, motrin works MUCH MUCH better. I make sure to give it to Alex at least 30 minutes BEFORE bedtime, so that the effects are kicking in by the time she goes to bed.
Alex is a stubborn mule and was an absolutely HORRID sleeper for the longest time, but what REALLY REALLY worked for us was sticking to a consistent routine. Some babies, and toddlers, really need that kind of rigid routine...
