I am starting IVF today!!!
I was approved for the grant study and am picking up my Lupron NOW! Shots start tonight.
I am SO excited! I don't have IVF coverage so this is such a random blessing and I have to thank the original poster who make a post about the New Hope grant study.
I have been praying to put me in which ever study gives me a baby and I got regular IVF as opposed to mini. If all goes as planned the transfer should be around the end of the year.
I am going to start an IVF journal and will have lots of questions. I am taking Lupron, follistim and ovidrel. So Lupron is the only new med. How is it for all who have taken it? Bad side effects?
I am so excited and pray I get a take home baby (or 2!) I want twins.

Congrats!!! It is exciting, I'm on my 5th day of my fresh cycle today
I don't know about any of the meds, I'm on different ones. What's the difference between mini and regular IVF?

Thank you! With mini its less drugs and they usually only get 2-4 dominant eggs. I think the point of the study is to show mini can be better bc its less drugs, side effects and bc it takes "the best" eggs that its a great alternative.
If I was in that study they'd only transfer 1 egg, with regular they transfer 2. Also with mini they only do frozen transfers on the next natural cycle. I am sure there is a lot more to it, but that's kind of what I took from it lol.
But w me on femara and follistim I only made mostly 2 eggs, one time 3 and so I was afraid with mini I'd have nothing left over. I am hoping for frosties that I can keep for future babies.

Thanks for the info! I've never heard of a mini cycle until you mentioned it, that seems like a great option for some people. I'm glad you got into the regular cycle then, hopefully you'll be bringing home twins in 2012!!!
