I am sure many of you have dreams, is it too late to act on them?
if your in your early 30's? there is something that I have wanted to do since I was a little girl.. through the years I have tried but, always backed out because I used to be really shy. I have overcome that somewhat since I have gotton older. If you had the chance to show your talent and maybe get a shot of living your dream, would you go after it? Would you say to yourself.. eh it's too late... just forget it..
Sorry I thought should add that it's not school I am talking about for me it's something totally different.. I play an instrument and my voice is my instrument.. it is my passion and has always been. If you wake up and can think of nothing else than that is what you are supposed to be right?

I would always go for it - life is too short to have major regrets. I was in my late 20's when I decided to quit my successful job in HR and go back to law school. I took a serious paycut, lived on peanuts for 3 years, and am now happier in my new job than I ever could have possibly imagined.

It is never too late! I went back to school in my late 20's and will probably be 31 when I finish. I have always wanted to be a Sports & Entertainment lawyer and I am going for it. I am only in accounting because it made my dad happy...I hate it. Before I met stephanief and Phyl, I thought all the other accounting people were 50 year old men with moustaches.
ps: spellcheck is not working for me so I will never know if moustache is spelled right.

Re: I am sure many of you have dreams, is it too late to act on them?
i had a similar conversation with a friend. i told him that i felt i was too old to go back to school.
this is what he told me: let's say you finish by 40. you still have 30, maybe 40, years of using the degree.
he made me feel that it's not too late.
maybe what you want to do might be harder/easier than going back to school. but if you think of it, (God willing) you'll have many more years of life. wouldn't it be wonderful to live those years doing what you love or at least knowing you did all you could.
I SAY: "GO FOR IT!"

It's never too late. I think 30s is still quite young.
You're going to get old no matter what. Do you want to be an old, happy person who chased her dreams, or would you rather grow old knowing you never tried?

it's never too late - it took me nearly 8 years of school to finally figure out what i wanted to do... and i took the job knowing that i would always be open to new opportunities because you never know what can happen!
"30s" is still so young - go for it!!

Re: I am sure many of you have dreams, is it too late to act on them?
i had this discussion with friends yesterday. to me, it really depends on the dream. one of my friends is 42 and is contemplating a PhD program that would take 8-10 years...To me there really wouldn't be time for the degree to pay for itself looking at it from a cost/benefit analysis...It's a costly program and would mean her having to give up her job for 10 years, and she wouldn't want to work for more than 10 additional years after getting the degree. So to me while it's never too late, depending on the schooling involved and cost of the schooling/work, it may not payoff.

I would totally go for it. 30 is not too old!
If 40 is the new 30, then 30 must be at least the new 25.....
Go for it!

Re: I am sure many of you have dreams, is it too late to act on them?
I think for some things that it is too late. There are some things that I wanted to pursue - but at my age it's just not feasible.
However, for what I think you are talking about, no, I don't think it's too late. I think that if you don't at least try, you'll kick youself later.

Life is too short! Go FOr it! and a woman's singing voice is at it's best during your 20s and 30s... so why the heck not?
