I am taking myself to the emergency room today (UPDATED WITH DIAGNOSIS)
I have been sick since wednesday with what started out as a sore throat, now I am all congested, including my chest and I have ths deep, painful, barking cough
What does that sound like to you, bronchitis? Pneumonia?
I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I am waiting for IL's to come over and watch the baby while I go to the er...wish me luck.
UPDATE: It's bronchitis...my IL's are watching Mikayla at their house and they are gonna keep her overnight so I can rest

I have been sick like that and had it be bronchitis and upper respitory infections. Actually I feel like I'm getting that way myself right now. I always get sick this time of year so I know how much it sucks.
I hope they give you some mega-strong antibiotics to kick this cold out of your system, and that it isn't anything more serious.

Thanks, I am waiting for my IL's to wake up and come watch mikayla so I do not have to bring her with me....If I do not hear from them in 1/2 an hour, I am just gonna take her and go
It is hard for me to breathe deep and I am getting sicker by the second

If it turns out that you have to go with the baby, do you have any urgent care centers near you? It might be easier then taking her to a big ER --- and she might be exposed to less germs. I don't know about you but there are always toooo many sick people at the ERs near me.

I would opt for urgent care versus emergency room too. You may get treated a lot faster.
It sounds like bronchitis or pneumonia to me. I know when I had it last year, it felt like someone was sitting on my chest when I was trying to breathe.

sounds like broncitis to me. I hope you feel better
I agree with the PP's - if you have an urgent care center near you, your much better off - you will be in and out compared to the ER.

Feel better.
I was also going to suggest a walk in clinic. ER you will be waiting all day.
It sounds like bronchitis or even an upper respitory(sp)? infection.

It could be either, but back pain often is a sign of pneumonia.
