I am watching a baby story
And the husband insists on a natural birth he " doesnt believe in epidurals"
The wife is in intense pain, but said shes going along with the natural birth because it is so important to her husband
Personally, I am most def going to have an epidural, I know myself, I will have one bad contraction and scream " give me the f*cking drugs!" Dh is totally with me he actually laughed when I said I want to try natural, but then said whatever I want to do
Would you let your husband/SO decide what you are going to do?
eta- she just said to the doctor she wants an epidural and he said " no we are not, we are not doing the epidural"
I am yelling at the tv, this guy is really p*ssing me off!!

Re: I am watching a baby story
My husband would NEVER tell me that I couldn't have drugs if I was in pain.
My theory on this is, when he has a watermelon coming out of a quarter sized hole, he can make that decision not to have drugs. I am getting them.
Scream at the tv for me too!!

Dh lost out lol she got the epidural..
I thought i wouldnt want one, but man i gave in real quick... But my epidural didnt last the entire pregnancy, i had to push 2 hours with out it.. oh boy did i beg the nurse to just stick her hands in and grab her out lol. My DH kept laughing and is still laughing at me for asking her to do that.

Re: I am watching a baby story
OMG I feel violent towards the husband after reading this.
She should get to drive nails up his you know what until he begs for an epidural. That is the decision of the person whose body is being ripped apart in my humble opinion.
No uterus = keep your trap shut and support me.

Re: I am watching a baby story
I was watching a Baby Story yesterday and my DH said, I really hope your getting an epidural, I said HELL YEAH!
...and no, there is no way in hell I would allow my husband to make that decision for me. I am the one in intense pain not him. I'm sure if that woman's husband was the one in labor he would have screamed the word epidural during the 1st contraction

Re: I am watching a baby story
When DH is giving birth, he can decide whether or not there will be an epidural, but until that is possible, it is 100% my decision.
My DH would prefer I get the epi, because I think he is afraid to see me experiencing that much pain.

Re: I am watching a baby story
When men can pop babies out of their "you know what" then they would be able to have some opinion...until then it is the woman's decision and hers alone!

my sentiments exactly! i would never let my husband or anyone dictate my birth plan when the person going through it is ME!!!

Re: I am watching a baby story
My situations the opposite. I don't do epidurals and if my DH ever tried talking me into it I woudl be upset. it's my body and I am the only one who will control it. So the same goes for the opposite. What does her DH know about childbirth other than reading about it? He has no clue and therefore he shoudl shut the f*ck up!

Re: I am watching a baby story
the whole "we" thing gets me annoyed. seriously, what do men have to do? they are not pregnant, they don't have to deal with anything. so, no, i did not let my Dh dictacte to me whether or not to take the pain meds.

Re: I am watching a baby story
my DH wants me to do what's right for me, but I think would prefer an epi. he has seen women refuse it until it's too late and does not want me to go through that.

Re: I am watching a baby story
If I was her I would have punched DH in the face and told him to shut the eff up
IMO he's not feeling the pain so he has no say. My DH is totally fine if I get an epi...he has no other choice.
