I can't believe what a girl in my office just did -- you gotta hear this
So there’s this girl, J., at my office. She’s been here for years and as far as I could tell, loved it here. Well I just found out from my boss that she got p*ssed that she’d been here for three years and I’d been brought in with an SAE title, while she’s an AE. Now mind you, I’ve got 2+ years of experience on her. She apparently felt that SHE should’ve been promoted and the new person hired should’ve been the AE. Because of all this, she QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this my fault???? I feel bad.

you have more experience, you are more qualified for the senior position, then it's her ego that has the problem.
i wouldnt lose sleep over this.

heck no it's not your fault! and IMO, if I were you, I would be glad she quit. it would have been very uncomfortable to work with someone who had such hostility towards you.

this is not your fault at all!!! it's her choice to quit if she felt that she was wronged. If she was wronged - it was by your employers - not you! but, really, it sounds like she was just pretty immature. and, if that's the case, it's better that you will not have to work with her!

it has absolutely nothing to do with you! she had her own issues to deal with and this is how she dealt with it. i'm sure she's regretting acting so harshly and irrationally now.
