I was just saying the same thing yesterday!
As long as you filed taxes last year, you will get a rebate.

well it's not that simple for us. we got a letter from the IRS in Feb that we owe $ from our 2006 tax return. long story short, we had our accountant re-do our taxes and she found a $300 discrepancy (from cashing out stock options), so we submitted the re-done '06 return with a check and then got a letter from the IRS saying that they received it. but we haven't heard anything else from them about it.
they initially claimed that we owed thousands of $'s! I am really worried now that we won't get anything back

I think everyone gets an economic stimulus check (it's separate from your taxes).

We owed and the full amount was deducted from our bank account - the rebate was not credited.

Yeah what happens if you owed taxes and paid them already? Does anyone know?
I did not file in 2006, so I did not get a letter. I did file in 2007, so I believe I should be getting the rebate.
