I can't seem to decide...anyone want to offer opinions
I am in the process of getting bunk beds for my boys. I found one that I really like but I can't decide between Antique Walnut or Natural color wood. The Antique Walnut is so rich looking and is very nice in this set but I worry that it makes the room darker. Their room is pretty bright, it has south and west facing windows but I don't want to make it darker than it needs to be. I think the Natural would probably brighten the room more. Walls are a medium blue. Also, I wasn't going to buy them an entire set right now, just the bunks. I am thinking the Natural might be easier to match if I don't want to get the coordinating dresser/desk/etc. I actually didn't care for the desk that goes with the set. Plus I already have a set of shelves in their room that is a Natural color. I don't have to build the room around those shelves but it helps that it already matches. I am really torn. I simply cannot decide - I hate when this happens. What do you think?
Here's the Antique Walnut - I would be getting a twin over twin not the size pictured here: Here's the Natural Maple:

I like the walnut simply because it's for boys and probably won't show dirt/crayon, etc. BUT would show scratches more.
The natural is nice too

I like the darker set. Mainly because I think of lighter furniture as temporary (no idea why).
I can picture them moving out of the house with the full bed & getting away with it for a few more years.

I like the natural better, especially with blue walls. I also think it will be easier to match when you decide to get a new dresser.

Same here! I tend to think of IKEA when I see that light color... I really do like the antique walnut, especially for a boys room.

love the dark!
besides, with two boys in a room, does the dust even have a chance to settle?

Antique Walnut, personally I am not a fan of natural woods in general. I also don't think it will make their room dark. DD's furniture is antique black with pale pink walls and it doesn't look dark at all.
