I did it ..Update my Wisdom teeth are out!
I made the appointment for my wisdom teeth!  I am a BIG baby. The dentist has been giving me a hard time about this for months (ok years). Last time I went he told me i had a cavity and it needed to come out or he could do root canal on it. I did nothing  
Now that im not working I thought might as well get it done. BUT IM SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!! Im a BIG baby when it comes to this!

Trust me so was I.
I waited until it was rotting out of my head before I had it out.
Depending on your situation- it probably will not be as bad as you imagine.
I know mine wasn't....
I felt so foolish afterwards because I made such a HUGE ordeal out of it- then once it was done it was a breeze!
I went to work the very next day!

Oh thanks guys you made me feel so much better. My dentist tells me they will be "so easy" because they are already of the gum Im just a baby

I have my 2 bottom ones that HAVE to come out. They are impacted & one of them has been giving me issues. I am terrified to have them out. So I know how you feel.

I had all 4 out and only one was giving me a little bit of pain. I decided to do all 4 at once to get it over with. I really wasn't in too much pain but my face did get very swollen. DH and my family said I looked like Monica from Friends when she had the fat suit on

I have had out 2. The first one I was in so much pain because I waited too long and a nerve was exposed, it was more painful then the extaction. That one was out about 7 yrs ago.( I go to a different dentist now) I just had one out in May and it was a breeze, and I am a chicken when it comes to dental work. He was telling me to get it out for a yr and I finally just did it right then and there because he was not busy. From start to finish it was out in 10 minutes with the shot. I still get some bleeding from it , but very little and there is still a small hole where it was, but I hardly notice it. Tell your dentist how scared you are. I told mine I was afraid of the noises, so they sang to me while they took it out, it kept my mind off of it. Good luck.

I know that everyone is different, but I truly believe it is just best to do it!!!
I just went in for this on Tues. I popped on my iPod and it was done very quickly. (Mine were impacted.)
I have been taking Advil and using this as an excuse to eat lots of ice cream.

Well mine were pulled at no notice-I was having problems went to see my freind's Dad who is a dentist. He pushed me down in the chair, shot me up with novacaine and pulled my wisdom teeth with a plier like instrument. Sent me on my way with a scrip for vicodin Took that and was fine the next day pretty much.

I had 6 teeth puled the same day (4 wisdom and 2 molars) It was nothing. Honestly I am a wuss and it was nothing. Changing the gauze was the worst for me, not because it hurt just because it made me gag putting it in because it was dry.

they'll be out in less than 2 min since theyre already out. wear headphones and listen to music to drown out the noise and poof you're done.

Thanks guys im back. They are out all 4. Seriously I feel fine. They did put my out. I had an IV It was a little strange cause I could hear a little noise around me and I could feel a little pulling but I was asleep  I wanted to be put out and the DR agreed it would probably be the best thing for me. The dentist was so nice. I told him I was putting this off for 3 years. He said are you here for an evaluation or for them to come out today? I was like OUT it took me forever for this im not coming back
He showed me my x ray and they were already out of the gum so he said I had a text book x ray (a nice x ray ) and on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest for them to come out I was less then a 1. They told my DH to come in the room for the evaluation with the doc and he went to leave. The dr. said you can stay till she goes to sleep So that was nice.. He was there. He said you will feel some burning and itches in your arms a legs and then go to sleep and that was it I was out. My hubby said I was done in less then a half hour. I woke up to him walking in the room.
I kept crying They said thats from the anesthesia. I came home and fell asleep for a bout an hour. Had a tiny fever they said thats normal. Took 2 advil only once didn't even touch the vicodin yet.
They called to see how I was and I think they were surprised I answered the phone and sounded so good
The dr. Tapped my foot when he was ready and said you are doing great don't worry made me feel better
Now everyone was right why didn't I have this done before

I'm so happy for you that it was easy--i had a HORRIBLE experience... the surgery took nearly 2 hours, my father was waiting in the office--he thought I died or something, it took so long. I had an infection and all 4 were impacted. I was unable to close my jaw all the way for a few hours, and when i finally got it shut, i couldn't open it again!
It was awful!!!
But I'm so glad that yours went well!!

Getting my wisdom teeth out was the BEST thing i ever did. I really don't know why we all put up with that horrible painf or so long when it can SO easily be corrected.
Just don't drink out of a straw- you dont want to get a dry socket!

UGH that sounds horrible. My regular dentist was giving me a hard time for years. Just cause you can't get back there to clean to well and the hygenist can't either. He told me since they were out already I could live with them forever and never have any problems but If I do have a problem it wont be pretty and if it happens at 2 am on christmas good luck finding someone

Thanks Neen. My mom brought me pretty flowers and a frap but I drank it through the cups no straws!

Not to be so gross but my jaw is tiny and there was some cheek skin over the tooth. The oral surgeon said he was surprised I haven't had an infection already. It's a good thing they came out!
I really recomend this guy he was great!

OMG- i couldn't.... i just lived on ice cream for a few days ( you know- 'cause the cold helps, and all). I still have the asss to show for it!

My hubby said now she can have ice cream breakfast lunch and dinner and no one can complain
Ice cream is my downfall so im not complaining
