I did not respond well to my meds. I only made 5 follies
I've been taking the max. dosage of Repornex and Follistem, I went in for my blood and sono today and the Dr was a little surprised of the amount of follies I made. I got upset and started to cry. Nurses told me not to get upset all you need is one good one. It was just a let down. I asked what I should have made and they said on average 8-10 follies. Retrieval is coming up soon. I'm a little scared. I just want them to be good quality and everything and I hope they get them all out.
Please share with me your stories on the retrival and amount of eggs & quality. This is the first time I feel like this  throughout this whole IVF process.

I have high FSH so it is virtually impossible to get a lot of follicles out of me. My RE concentrated instead on low quantity, high quality. My first IVF I had 3 follies, 2 eggs matured. BFN.
My second IVF, 3 eggs and 1 BFP.
SO 5 follicles sounds like a lot to me!! THey are right, all you need is one good one.

I am also a poor responder. If you have 5 quality embies you should be fine. Good luck
I know how disappointing that is.

Like Pauline said, as long as they are good quality you should be fine.
But, I understand how disappointing it is!!

It only takes one!! I only hads one and it wasnt even that big...and it was on the side where my tube was blocked. I thought for sure it was another wasted cycle and didnt even think we should bother with then IUI...but that was the month that it happend!

Five is plenty - I just found out my cousin did IVF and made only five eggs her first time. They did ICSI and all five were good, she put back three and now has a healthy three year old daughter.
