I don't know how single moms do this.
DH is away on business and I'm EXHAUSTED.
I definitely take for granted how important the 5:00 hand-off can be. 
I felt like I ran out of things to do with him today. It wasn't a bath night, but I gave him one for the hell of it.
And I put him to bed at 7:30 instead of 8:00.
3 more days to go. 
But on the bright side, this is lots of mommy bonding time before daycare starts next week!!

We've all had nights of not knowing what to do next. Your DH will be home before you know it though.

I go from one extreme to the other. When Al's not traveling, he works from home, so he's VERY involved in Ella's care. But lately he's been gone 3-4 days a week! I feel like a single mom those days!

I know how you feel, DH working nights makes me ask the same question all the time.

I swear, I had the same thought tonight... DH has a late night and I've been on my own since getting home from work today. DD has been super cranky this afternoon and wouldn't take a nap, so I did the whole bedtime routine much earlier than usual.
Hang in there.. just a few more days!

I hear you, Dh is deployed until more then likely after the baby is born. So it's just Jack and I. Luckily my Mom will be visiting next weekend :)

My Dh travels a ton for work. It's so hard when he is away. We used to live in Westchester but moved back to LI to be near my family b/c I was always on my own.
that 5:00pm hand off is golden, even if its just for a 1/2 hour.

DH was away this past weekend and that's all I could think of. Single moms have THE hardest job. Definitely hats off to them!

My girlfriend who was divorced used to say she wants only wants a husband so she can run to the store without lugging her daughter.
