I don't know why I get so angry...
I had a conversation last night with my MIL and my Dh's cousin...who are both BIG into religion. In fact, the cousin has just become very religious. I was listening to their stories and thought that the conversation was going to be about him and then it changes.
He then starts to ask me questions about some things and then he tells me that things I believe in are wrong. I believe things like crosses and rosaries are very holy and they mean something to me. He tells me I'm wrong, it's only the bible that's holy. Not only that but I just felt like I was bombarded with how they want me to "change" my Dh because he listens to me. They said I should have him listen to christian music and try to get him to throw away all his DVD's with violence, sex and cursing.  Yeah...that'll happen. I just am furious that I got sucked into all this crap. Religion is something that cannot be discussed....

It can be discussed, but only with people who are respectful of other views instead of trying to push all of their views onto you. It sounds like he isn't very respectful.
I would be annoyed too.

I am a born again Christian. Well it was a few years ago. There are things that others do that I don't think are correct based on what the bible teaches me, but I would never, ever push religion on anyone. I think it's such a private & personal choice. Nex t time they do that, ask they respect your religion just as you do theirs. I would say, no where in the bible does it say that you should point fingers and put people down.

This is exactly why I always try to avoid conversations on religion. I hate when people try to push their beliefs on other people.

That was nicely said. I just am so angry at myself for not speaking up and telling them to have some respect in my own house.

You need to say something. You know that girl. No need to be rude. I would have said "I respect your beliefs and I demand the same respect for mine." The end!
