I don't think this cramping is normal...6 weeks UPDATED!!

I woke up this morning at 2:30am with horrible cramps, the type of cramps that almost made me cry and it felt batter ater a little while and when I woke up again at 6 they were at it again, not as bad but I haven't had this much cramping at all. I have had a little cramping every now and then but not like this....is this bad. My OB's office doesn't open until 8am, another half hour. Should I brave the snow and go to the doctor or is this just normal cramping from my changing uterus???
I don't know what to do....

UPDATE:
I just got back from the doctor and he said everything looks fine and that's probably exactly what it is, is just gassy cramps!! I just felt like nothing I had felt before, it was like period cramping, it's my first pregnany so im probably more worried about everything because ive never done this before.

Thank you ladies for all your help! I am guess im just a nervous first-timer!!!

How far along are you?

I would call the doctor. Is it supposed to snow today?

I take it back, if the cramping really is that painful that you are doubling over or crying, then maybe you should see your doc Chat Icon

I advise that you call the doctor. It could have been gas. That might sound lame but your gass levels are higher when you are pregnant. Just to be safe call snow or no snow.

My dr. said if it is excrutiating to go straight to the ER. She told me that unless I am doubled over &/or it is accompanied by bleeding, it's probably normal.

But if you were crying and doubled over, I would go to the ER. Chat Icon

So glad to hear that everything is alright. You are better off getting things checked out when you are not sure.
