I feel a little better now...or maybe not (re: Hib vaccine)
DS's ped just called me and although DS got the HIB shot a few weeks ago his lot # has not been recalled. However, i told my ped. I was still concerned about the red bump he got after the shot (which he said is not unusual with any shot) and that he got a bad cold a few days later that is still lingering. At this time the ped. said not to worry, but I am b/c who knows when they will release more recalls. These things usually come in waves!
I asked him how this could have happened and he told me they use other bacteria/viruses to kill the bacteria/virus they are vaccinating your child with (now THAT really ) and they do not think some of the viles were sterilized properly....aka... it means that the bacteria/virus they were using to kill the other probably became a live virus possibly in the vaccine (although they arent saying that) and that is why they are concerned with children being sick with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea etc. b/c that is the symptoms of that b. cereus bacteria that has been found.

I am "afraid" to call Ped's office!! DS (KNOCK ON WOOD) has been good. Except for a runny nose and little cough, but we're relating that to another tooth that cut thru.
