I feel like I am wearing a diaper!
My DH made me put a plastic cloth on top of the mattress out of fear that I will break my water in bed and ruin the mattress.
Everytime I move at night, I sound like a little kid in a diaper!
*crunch*crunch*crunch*

DH made me put plastic garbage bags under the bed's mattress pad. I told him it felt like I was sleeping on a bag of potato chips, it was so crunchy!

tell DH that your mattress pad is machine washable, and mommy to be needs to get some real rest on a quiet comfy mattress........

Yeah but won't it soak right through the mattress pad- and therefore ruin the mattress? Considering I know how much we paid for our mattress- I'd rather lose sleep than ruin it.
This is something I never thought of- what DO you do? Is the rubber sheets thing something everyone does?

I didn't do anything, my water broke while I was sleeping, I woke up because I thought I had to go to the bathroom and I felt a trickle, it wasn't until I stood up and moved that it all came pouring down
Not sure if this is the norm, or if I just got out of bed at the right moment

I never even thought about that!! My DH is DEFINATELY going to obsess about that also....our mattress was REALLY expensive and we are both so in love with our bed...I saw in Bed Bath Beyond they had a liner for under a mattress pad...I guess that will have to do.

There's only a 15% chance of your waterbreaking at home, that's extremely low! Rip out those rubber sheets and get some good rest!!!
DH was scared about this too, he wanted me to sleep in an inflatable rubber raft so he would be protected from the gush too. HELL NO!!
My water wound up being broken by the dr at 3cm's in the hospital.
NOt to worry ladies, many many many women's water do NOT break at home, let alone while laying down, this is not the norm!

My water broke while I was in bed at 3 am and yes I had put the wee wee pads that I use for my dog under my sheets...
I am soo glad I did it because I was gushing!!!!!

Thats so funny...we just bought a bed and bought new sheets and I told DH that I am sleeping on the bed in the guest room until I give birth just in case my water breaks. He thinks that I am nuts

Only a small percentage actually have their water break when they are in labor or before labor starts. Mine water broke right before I delivered my son when I was pushing. Hopefully that will happen to all of you and not on the couch!
