I filed a Police report and I am so mad at the neighborhood kids

We have lawn lights up our driveway and for the past 2 weeks every night when I get home from work my lawn lights are some how destroyed.

Today I get home and my one light is completely pulled up from the ground to a point we cant fix it (a whole new light has to be bought) and my christmas decorations were destroyed. I've had enough and called the police. We filed a criminal mischief report this evening.

The police officer said they'll do some extra patroling around this area especially during the day as it seems a lot of this is done during the day. They asked if their are any kids that live in this area and we told them down the block and around the corner. When we mentioned the kids around the corner, the police officer knew them all too well. So i guess they've had incidents with them before.

It just aggrivates me to no end. Why do some kids just have complete disrespect for someone's personal property.

sorry this happened. sounds like they don't have any good adult influences in their lives and were never taught to respect others' property. hope it gets resolved!

Over the summer they set a forest fire around the corner during a major drought.

I doubt they have any adult influence to teach them right from wrong.

I hope this gets resolved too.

I'd ring their doorbell and explain what happened, say you notified the police. Tell them you are just a friendly neighbor warning people about the general mischief in the neighborhood. Maybe that will get them good and scared and leave you the heck alone!
