I finally have some Before and After pictures to share of our kitchen
So it isn't 100% done but we are almost their. We still have to put up some curtains, finish the mouldings, the backsplash and get the countertop for the new cabinets.
We love the way it came out.

I live in NJ and in our area they call it a Sandburg Split. In NY I think they call them splanchs, but I have never seen a splanch.
Here is our layout:
Ground level: entrance, kitchen, garage, soon to be playroom, laundry room, dining room, guest bath and entrance to basement.
second floor: living room
third floor: 4 bed rooms and 2 baths
It's 6 steps between each of the floors.

I love it!! The new floors make such a difference! The new paint color is great too! With the wall opened up it seems like a much better use of space. What did you do with the big room that's on your left when you walk in? Is that still going to be a dining room?

We still have that back room and it is still painted and unfurnished. Right now we rent tables and put them in their if we are going to have a lot of people and it really works out. It's going to be a awhile before we can afford to furnish that room the way I want to since it's so big. The kids play in their
