i got Odie back, today
i got home a little bit ago with the cremated remains of Odie, our dog. 
the animal hospital where he was taken to have been the nicest and most thoughtful people through this process. they mailed me a condolences card, with Odie's paw-print on it. today, when i picked up the ashes, they sat and talked to me about how i was feeling.
if we decide to get another pet, we will DEFINITELY be using them for all our vet care.
as i imagined, tommy cried when he saw the box. he said that he hates the people who did that to Odie. i gently reminded him that they didn't hurt Odie, they are the people who have been able to allow us to put Odie's remains to rest as we think is best.

i'm so sorry for your loss. i know how you feel. after our doggie died i couldn't see a dog, watch any tv with dogs in it, or think about him without crying. he's been gone for a year and a half and i still cry when i think about him

on the day before good friday, he was hit by a car.
the post was moved to the pets board.

thanks everyone.
that dog was a PITA, but we loved him and miss him greatly
i have to say that there have been a lot of wonderful people who have helped us through this.
we will do our best to honor odie's memory with bringing other animals in need of a good home into ours... we just need a little time to heal, first

We picked up Rocky's ashes 2 weeks ago and it was so hard But I do feel so much better that he is back with me if that makes sense. I'm so sorry for your loss.

i put the beautiful box with his ashes on the mantel.
they really did a beautiful and respectful job with it

Yes I was suprised that the box was so nice and that there was a beautiful card inside. It was really touching.
We put Rocky's ashes on a corner shelf we have along with a 5X7 pic of him and his collar and tags. It overlooks our living room (his fav place) and it makes me feel a bit better knowing he is always there watching over us.

So sorry about Odie.
It's not easy losing a pet.
You will know when the time is right to get a new pet. That one will never replace Odie, but will find a new space in your heart.
Bella did that for me when I got her 6 months ago.
