I gotta tell someone who my "get it"
So I teach a double period freshman class. I have this one kid who I just mesh with. I don't know how else to explain it. He comes in today, "I have something for you to do." So I go to his desk, his backpack string thing broke. He loves this backpack (it's a JETS) Mom can't fix, dad can't fix. Mom says I'll buy you a new one. He tells her hold on a day.
"Mrs. J if anyone can fix this...you can" So I do. He goes, "wow, you're like another mom to me. Thanks. (turns to the kid behind him) See, I told you she could fix it. "
My heart grew 3 sizes 3rd period.

awww..that's sooo nice!! Those are the moments when we love to teach. I love when my students call me "mom" by accident. I feel like their mother sometimes since I'm with them for so many hours a day.

OMG... that is too cute! and i know the type of kids you have at your school, that don't often say things like that! how sweet!!!!
