I had a horrible weekend-baby fine- VERY LONG
So I have to start off by saying that I am thankful no one was hurt...things could have been much worse and I know that BUT......
I had a horrible weekend.....
Friday night while waiting for my DH to get home from work....I went to heat up our dinner.
I had made stew that I was CRAVING  and was planning to freeze some of it for after  arrives.
I had it a big pot on the top of my stove.
I went to turn the burner on and I heard a POP and immediate smoke coming out. Of corse I shut the burner right back off but the smoke started to multiply within seconds, coming out of every seam on the top of my stove.
THEN..the digital panel on the front of the stove that displays the time, temp, mode...etc starts curling in and flames starting shooting out!!
Well I freaked of corse!!! Called 911 and ran out of the house.
All I could see from my front door was a smoke filled kitchen. Fire department came sooo fast and got it under control rather quickly.
The causes was a short in the electrical panel of the stove. I already placed calls in to the manufacturer. SOmeone better call me back soon. Fire dept said it was the fault of the stove itself, had nothing to do with my house, my electric or gas.
The only past of the story that i can laugh about now is the fact the you should have seen me...I am 9 months pregnant, HUGE and it was 8pm on a friday night...I was already in my PJs (that really dont fit ) and I grabbed a robe on my way out that I wore 2 years ago so of corse it didnt fit....So I was a site to be seen!!!!!
I was so mortified bc about 50 neighbors were out there with me....but they were all so good and understood! But still!!!!!
My parents and sis came shortly after and my DH got home a few minutes after that. The worst part was being alone!
So I am very Thankfful to God 
I was ok.
Obviously stove was destroyed, we already bought a brand new one yesterday and the only damage my kitchen surprsingly has was that film from all the fire extinguishers. It was everyhwhere....every cabinent, drawer, all over my floors, tables, counter...etc...and the smell in my house was terrible all weekend. 
My parents and DH cleaned all weekend bc no one wanted me near anything.
But no damage to my granite, cabinents or anything like that!
So that was my weekend!!! Not a nice way to spend it at all let alone 9 months preggo!!!!

omg u poor thing!!! glad you werent hurt, just think at least u know u can handle an emergency :) ur training to be a great mom already lol

I have been on the phone with Amana all morning. They are sending someone to inspect the stove this week.
I have been doing my own research and it seems that the reviews on the stove are horrible and all have the same problem I have had with it. It seems that the door doesnt shut correctly, which we already have had replaced which causes heat to escape out and melt the burner igniter.
When we purchased my house this was the stove that they had there. I believe the previous owners purchased it in 2004.
Also there was a class action lawsuit on it that just settled last Feb.
I hope they do something for me.
