I had to go and do it... A question about bloodwork and HCG levels...
I was scheduled for a D&C two days ago, but started miscarrying naturally over the weekend. I saw my doctor Monday and she ummm "helped things along" so that we could avoid the surgery.
She drew blood on Monday and I went to the lab today for more bloodwork. I will get those results tomorrow. Meanwhile, I came home and took a digital test anyway and of course "Pregnant." Why did I do it!!
So the questions...1. If your levels were being monitored, how many blood tests did you end up with (I just had my FIFTH in the last two weeks!) before it reached zero. And 2. How long did that take. My doctor said a week or two...was that accurate for you?
Thank you SO much for responding to a question I'm sure has been asked before...

i am sorry u are going thru this. I took cytotec to mc the end of Nov. My beta went down to zero 2 1/2 weeks later after i mc. I was almost 8 weeks along when i mc. and my beta was somehwere in the thousands.
Try not to poas - it makes it so much harder. I hope these next couple of weeks go by very quickly for u.
ETA : i had blood drawn 3 times. one the same week i mc then a week after and the following week after that.

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss.
My m/c, it took about 5 weeks for my beta levels to go down. I was actually seeing a RE since this was through IVF, so they had me coming in at first every 2-3 days to check my bloods. My initial beta also wasn't very high to begin with, which was why for me it was so torturous to have it take 5 weeks.

it took me about 3 weeks each time I miscarried. I am sorry you are going through this. Don't test, it is just mean to have to keep seeing it
