I hate AF - saddest I've been so far...
Well she showed up on day 41, on my flight out for a business trip. Needless to say, I had to deal with crazy emotions to start off the trip. I cannot handle the long cycles. I have had mainly 36-38 day cycles, but this month was even longer. I want to go to the dr since I'm 35 & he told me to come back in about 3-4 months if I was not pg. I am at that point. I am just afraid he will not be able to do anything for me. I wish there was something that could shorten my cycle. Soooo upsetting, but I'm trying to stay positive. I thought I had it this month, but she indeed made a late grand appearance.

Re: I hate AF - saddest I've been so far...
Personally I would go to an RE after 6 months of trying without success. However, my GYN told me that at my age it could easily take a year even if nothing is wrong with me and my DH. Try not to get discouraged....
Also, I would try to go to a RE and not back to my regular GYN but i dont know if inusrance co.'s give that option.

They should. You will just have ti pay your specialist co-pay. First step is to get CD 3 bloodwork. You can get that with your Dr or an RE.

I know, I'm so confused. I did not get an appt. until April 30th, so that will give me another month of trying and at that point, I will be going into month 5. What would an RE do? Sorry for all the questions....

An RE can give you insight into fetility issues that a GYN cannot. However, most insurance companies only cover infertility IF you meet the definition (1 full year of unprotected ijntercourse which fails to result in pregnancy).

Thanks so much for the clarification. I think I will see my OB first, only because I do not know for sure that I have an issue. I just do not want to waste time. When I was there back in Dec, he mentioned clomid as the next step; I guess I am just nervous about going that route.

Mine gave me the clomid option last week. I decided to hold off until I get the CD3 bloodwork results as well as DH's sperm analysis results. Why take hormones if I don't actually need them?? After the results I'll make a decision about clomid vs. RE.

Good point - I am still not sure I want to do clomid as I am having a hard time understanding what it actually will do.

I was actually about to start clomid on my next cycle but now I don't have to. Like you, I have very long, eratic cycles. Some months were 35 days, some 28, some 42. Clomid forces your body to O on a "normal" 28 day cycle. My Dr. told me I would start taking clomid on CD3 for 5 days and then start BDing every other day starting CD8 for one week. She said that I may not be Oing, my hormones were a little off and that's what causes the crazy cycles. I was ready to take this step because I was tired of trying to guess when and if I would O.
Feel better!!

WOW, congrats!! So you got pg even with those long, crazy cycles?? Maybe you just gave me a ray of hope. If you would not mind telling me anything that you did differently, I would be so appreciative.
