Nah, she cries herself to sleep at night. She's probably pretty unhappy. No one, IMO, is that perfect. It's all a facade.
At least that's what I tell myself, especially after I get a glimpse of my own image in a store mirror.

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
My smile... I just had a drink or two at the restaurant! Yes, my son spilled HIS milk all over the floor. Yep... that WAS him.
Drinking helps me get over the fact that I can't afford a new wardrobe because I'm paying for diapers. See that bag that TEENAGER is wearing? I can't afford it!
Is my daughter cute? Oh, thank you. Spit up and food caked on her shirt? Yes, I know. Thanks for pointing it out.
Yes, my son IS precious too! Is he climbing over the railing? Again? Don't worry, he can't get over it quite YET.
Makeup? Oh, I did it a few days ago... just haven't had the chance to wash my face yet. Haven't seen a mirror in a few days. Does it still look OK? Oh... a bit of smudging never killed anyone.

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
Ha, i thought the same thing when my DD was a baby! I had no idea how people look so good when they have babies to care for. My neighbor across the street had a baby a couple of months after i had mine and she always had time to go to the gym, go shopping, straighten her hair etc... She always looked great and i always looked haggard.

Ugh...but what i have come to realize is that a LOT of people have help. I know of three stay at home moms that still have babysitters. Another neighbor of mine just had a 2nd baby and is on maternity leave but still has her nanny coming every day..OR their husbands help out a LOT...sometimes i'm secretly jealous! All that help can make a HUGE difference.

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
Haha, I was THAT lady when I had DD , even when she was a NB , the baby weight came right off, I always managed to put make up on, have my hair look nice and dress well ... and I used to say "oh I could never go outside without looking all put together" blah, blah, blah. Umm yeah , this was with just one kid,but now that I'm pregnant with my 2nd and will have a toddler and this baby to take care of on my own , yeah, I am realizing things will change BIG TIME! I highly doubt that I will ever be that lady any more or even close to it , I'll be thankful if I have time to brush my teeth, wash my face and eat , lol. I have no idea how moms with 2 kids get anything done , let alone have some personal time (unless they have help) no idea whatsoever, but I guess I'll find out in about 7 days

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
The babies were a few months and I'm in the mall one day when I ventured out with the twins and my mom. We were two people and I looked a mess and we stopped to feed them and who strolls down the corridor? A super skinny woman on a cell phone drinking a latte and pushing her triple stroller with triplets no older than my few-month-old babies. Sigh. I had a mini meltdown right there.

I hate you!!! yes you!!!
I remember when DD was a few weeks old and I was sitting on the couch wearing the same pair of sweatpants I had come home from the hospital in (washed, at least) and only a zip up hoodie for a shirt because I was constantly nursing. And I thought to myself: "Will I ever wear real clothes again!?"
At least now I can wear a real shirt and pants (ok, maternity pants but still). They're covered in spit up and drool, but at least they're not pajamas!
ETA: I think of Victoria Beckham sometimes in those super high heels carrying the baby and I just laugh my butt off. I haven't worked myself up to heels yet.

I was going to say that lots of people have help. I find that when I find out someone has help, I feel like they are cheating!!!! but really I am jealous!! My twins are all consuming and we just can not afford it.

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
Reading this post reminds me what I think of almost everyday in my life. Since I watch other kids plus my own I am pretty sure I only own 2 dresses that aren't spit up on, stained from messy hands. One of those dresses is my wedding dress I think to myself everyday will there every be a day where I can wake up and make it to lunch time without smelling like formula, or having kids boogies on me????

I like to say maybe it's the babysitter or the nanny! LOL
Seriously, to those moms out there who can look that good, KUDOS! When I came home with DS, it was sweatpants and XL sweatshirts. Same with DD.

ITA. I think this is partly the key. I have ZERO help and I always feel sloppy still, and my DD is almost 4 now!!! It was wayyy worse when she was a baby....even now, I always have to get ready last, etc, otherwise she will get food or powder or something on me.
Yes, I agree, I think a LOT of people have their moms helping or a babysitter, nanny, etc. but maybe I am just trying to make myself feel better?

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
how bout the hot mom at the airport? saw it just this past weekend, flying home... I look like I just woke up and this thin woman walks by us (DH & I) with her baby looking all done up and in 4" heels.... I then said to my husband (after I noticed him lookin)-shame I'll never look like that at the airport! he just smiled
I felt a bit better that she changed her shoes to flats after she went through secruity

Re: I hate you!!! yes you!!!
I saw her!!! She was crossing the street in Huntington with her tiny newborn, and she was skinny and gorgeous and I hated her, too.
I mean, I assume it was the same woman...an enigma like that couldn't possibly happen more than once!
