I have a flea question?

I keep finding fleas on my dog. It is always only one at a time. I only saw flea dirt on her once and I went crazy vacuuming, washing everything and got her groomed. I put frontline on her at the beginning of the month. SHe gets groomed every 6 weeks and only goes on walks or to do her business while on a lease.
Now my question is why do I keep finding fleas on her? Shouldn't the front line be killing them?
We have 5 stray cats that kind of live next door. They walk all over the lawn. Could they be giving my dog fleas? Or is it just a bad season for them.
I'm so frustrated! I don't remember this happening last year.

Re: I have a flea question?

Call your vet and ask them. We use frontline plus on Daisy and we haven't had any issues. We also walk her on a leash. Maybe avoid letting your dog run under bushes, etc.

Also, regarding the cats....buy moth balls and place them where the cats go - it's a nice detterant to keep them away! We have them around our front yard because they were using our lawn as their litter box.

Re: I have a flea question?

You will see live fleas if they get one on them. They don't die instantly. They can live for hours on the animal until they die. ETA- If you have cats next door to you, that's absolutely likely that is where you dog is getting them from. My neighbor used to have strays outside, and that is def where my dog picked them up. When i stopped walking him there, he stopped getting fleas....

I am sure the Frontline is working otehrwise your home and dog would QUICKLY become infested. HTH

Do not reapply more often than instructed though.
