I have a silly question
I've been reading some of the other posts on this board and I'm a little concerned. My OB did a beta test at 5 weeks to confirm my miscarriage. My HCG came back at 10 and he said he didn't see a need for me to come back and test again. He also said he saw no reason for us to wait to TTC. But now I'm wondering if I need to confirm my level went back to Zero. I just assumed it would do that and now I'm reading about others who have been waiting on AF. Is it not possible to get pregnant again right away? Obviously I know the chances are slim, but I like to believe that at least I am still in the game somewhat. I had my mc last Monday so I sorta thought that maybe i might be around my O time.

I have a silly question
if at 5 weeks it was already back down to 10 then you really don't need to check it again. Mine hit 6 a week and a half after my MC at 6 & 1/2 weeks and they left it at that. I think the reason why they typically test others down to 0 (or closer) is if their HCG is taking a long time to get out of their system, usually when you are farther along and there is a higher chance that it was an incomplete MC and there's still tissue left. When you are at 5 weeks, it's really more of a chemical, and there isn't much in the way of tissue (that's not to say, of course, that it doesn't hurt as much).
REgarding TTC right away, again, at 5 weeks it's still typically considered a chemical, so I wouldn't imagine there's any reason not to TTC right away. In fact, studies show that you are MORE fertile immediately after a MC, and the few months right after. There is a girl on these boards who got her BFP right after her chemical.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I have a silly question
Just keep in mind that your doctor knows what he's doing. You were so early, it was still considered a chemical, if you weren't TTC you most likely wouldn't have even realized you were pregnant, so when it comes to how they monitor your HCG progress it's VERY different then if you had a MC 2+ weeks later. Because of that, most docs will tell girls with chemicals that they don't need to wait to start TTC again. Like i said, there is at least 1 girl I can name on the other boards who had a chem at the same week that you were, who didn't wait, went straight to TTC, and got her BFP...

Re: I have a silly question
I have lots of experience with losses and have ALWAYS tracked my betas down to 0 - no exceptions. Also, my doctor told me to wait a month after a chemical to let the inflammation in your uterus go down.
Implantation sets a blueprint for the rest of your pregnancy. Can you get a bfp right away? sure. but I would want to wait for any inflammation to go down and know that my little bean is implanting itself into a healthy place.
Good luck!
eta: it's true if you did not know you were pregnant, you would try right away again because you wouldn't know any better- but you DO know you were pregnant. Personally, I would wait it out a cycle.

Re: I have a silly question
Thanks for all of the feedback. I'm just confused now bc I don't even know when to expect AF. Should I be counting the day I started to bleed heavy as CD1? I usually have 26 day cycles and I'm pretty regular. I had a BFP at CD 26 and my MC (or chemical for that matter) started on what would be CD 31. Do I just start counting from there?

I am not an expert on this, but I am counting the first day of heavy bleeding as CD1 and the first day of a new cycle. Yes, had I not had a chemical AF would have liked started about 5 days earlier for me, but I think the new cycle starts with AF so for you I would start cd1 on cd31. You also may not be perfectly regular in this cycle... or you might be
